Project idea: Support of medicine test procedures by AAL methods
Technologies: Communication, Medicine, Sensors & actuators, Smart home, Software, web & networks, Tele-monitoring
We are looking for the following organisations: University, SME, Large Enterprise, End user organisation, Evaluation (trials) specialist organisation
Action type: Research, Development, Testing / Trials, Studies, Service innovation, Social Science / Elderly
Applications: Health & wellness, Safety, security, privacy, Information and learning, Home care, Mobility, Social interaction

Pharmaceutical tests are based on different phases:
- Phase I: testing on human subjects,
- Phase II: large group tests
- Phase III: multicenter trials
- Phase IV: Post Marketing Surveillance Trial
In phase IV. of tests of a new medicine patients are taking medication under strict control by authentical medical personnel, but usually they are living in their usual environment.
Such tests are usually contracted by CRO’s (Clinical Research Organization).

Fast collection/evaluation of data and test results are of major interest for the pharmaceutical company developing the drug.
This project aims to support the Phase IV process by AAL methods.
The patients participating in the evaluation shall live in an environment where sensors are used to follow their daily activities and the system provides notification in case of unusual behavioral pattern. Additionally, the patient shall exercise medical tests according to the medicine test plan, and the measured data shall be forwarded to a remote server for further processing.
Part of the project might be a sociological research on the acceptance of such methods by patients.
