The University of Medicine and Pharmacy – Faculty of Medical Bioengineering in Iasi, Romania, is an outstanding Romanian university (, specialized in education and applied research centres. We can provide expertise in e-Health, Telemedicine & eInclusion applications, both in hardware and software. We have managed R&D projects on computer-assisted technologies for the healthcare and assistive technology industry (e.g., see

Our main technical activities related to AAL program include:
• Advanced interfaces
• Medical devices
• Image and biosignal analysis
• Biomedical information management (data bases)
• Communication

Main applications are:
• Telemedicine and e-Health, based on modern H&S IT solutions for developing closed-loop systems based on multi-parametric monitoring, and personal health management systems, complex-data management, etc.
• e-Inclusion: integration of systems that facilitate use of information technologies to elderly or disabled people.
• Advanced Interfaces and Usability: Personal and Home Health Systems, Tele-rehabilitation, etc.
• Biomedical image processing and analysis, Data Mining for: Surgical planning, biomedical modeling, radiation therapy, training, etc.
• Simulation and Training: Simulation technology emulating real clinical conditions for healthcare professional skills training and assessment; it is achieved by means of interactive mannequins mimicking human anatomy, virtual reality, augmented reality and physiological modeling.
• Biomedical Image Analysis: 3D visualization, segmentation, multimodal registration, assisted surgery and therapy.
• Security and biometrics: computer vision for surveillance and access control through biometric identification.
