The Ageing and Design program at Lund University focus on modern ageing which is a concept that encompasses gerontechnology and user driven innovations. We emphasize the changes coming out of longevity, life experience and the development from being patients and care receivers only, to receive recognition as citizens, consumers, sources of innovations and raw models for younger generations. To realize their needs and demands we contribute with methods that empower their possibilities to stay independent and to participate in research and development.
The department has a broad competence in industrial design, universal design, rehabilitation, ergonomics, virtual reality, human computer interaction and packaging. Our projects are always done in collaboration with business and with older users.
