National Institute for Research & Development for Mechatronics and Measurement Technique, or for short INCDMTM, is a quasi - governmental organization, established by the way of the national law for promoting R&D activities. We, at INCDMTM are mainly responsible with fundamental and industrial researches, technological developments, technical and economic rules with national or limited applicability, all these regarding the field of mechatronics and intelligent measurement technique. INCDMTM is taking part in working out national strategies for development in our area, giving priority to achieving the scientifically and technological objectives included in our National Programs for R&D and Innovation.
Sub-fields covered by INCDMTM are in followings:
a) TECHNIQUE OF INTELLIGENT DIMENSIONAL MEASUREMENT;
b) SYSTEMS FOR MEASURING NON-ELECTRICAL DIMENSIONS AND SPECIFIC INOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES FOR MECHATRONICS AND MICROMECHATRONICS;
c) INSTRUMENTS FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND LABORATORIES, MEDICAL, BIOMEDICAL MECHATRONICS AND ROBOTICS;
d) QUALITY ENGINEERING, ASSURANCE AND CERTIFYING
e) STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT, MARKETING AND TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFER
Our main achievements, grouped according the aforementioned activity sub-fields:
1) Methods, technologies, measuring and control instruments for assessing quality characteristics through different proceedings, according to measuring techniques:
- dimensional control integrated with manufacturing process - in process control, automated and numerical control for automotive industry; bearings industry; for injection pumps industry;
- out of process dimensional control for industries manufacturing goods of large utilization; motors industry;
- control technologies and measuring equipment using laser interferometers, inductive and photoelectric sensors and transducers;
- mechatronic equipment and installations for multidimensional control, using a high degree of automation and numerical data processing;
2) Concepts and methods for improving competitiveness, reliability and capability in industrial processes; new materials, tools from hard and very hard materials, along with appropriate technologies for using them in mechatronics, robotics and intelligent measurement technique:
- Control of non-electrical dimensions - pressure, temperature, mass, force, time;
- technologies, carbide tools, diamond tools, posts for tools;
- equipment for specific testing and investigation methods and procedures;
- adapting and applying of new technologies and micro technologies for rationalization and optimization in industrial processes, in view of cutting costs and consumptions, and raising productivity;
