Activity profile: Wireless Sensors

Imego is a Swedish (Gothenburg) research institute with a commercial focus aimed at stimulating rapid development of sensor systems based on micro and nanotechnology.

Imego develops wireless sensor network systems tailored for the customer's application. Low-power and low-cost sensors (ex. humidity, temperature, motion, light, pressure, etc.) are integrated with wireless network technology (ZigBee, ANT, TinyOS, 6LoWPAN, RFID, MagnetoElastic Resonance Sensors). We perform wireless sensor(s) systems research & development providing tailored cost-efficient sensor solutions to the industry worldwide. Flexible and situation-adapted business models cover the whole range from pure contract R&D to shared risk and profit.

Business areas include, for example, verification of the environmental conditions during transport or storage, checking on indoor and outdoor environments, monitoring the state of a product in food or healthcare, detecting whether a product was tampered with, or protecting workers in hazardous environments, food processing, biomedicine and polymer testing.

Furthermore, Imego combines its world-class know-how in micromechanical inertial navigation systems, motion-related signal processing and low power wireless sensor networks. Imego has experience in body area networks for motion studies on patients suffering from epilepsy as well as top-level sporters.
