The Spanish Society of the Social and Health Care (Sociedad Española de Asistencia Sociosanitaria; SEAS) is a non profit organisation located in Spain, its goals are: 1) the protection and defence of rights and interests of dependent people, their familial and main carers; 2) Advising public Administration and social and health care private companies; 3) the promotion of the research and the dissemination of scientific results and knowledge in the social an health care field; and 4) providing quality services to companies of this sector. SEAS has also developed research promotion and transfer in social and health sector, quality services and in innovative systems for dependent people (disabled and elderly) in different local or European projects. SEAS is composed by researchers and University professors, with high experience in R&D in social and health sector. This association also has contacts with national and European networks focused on the protection and promotion of ageing and disabled rights. SEAS has experience in validating technologies concerning the elder and disabled people. Besides, we can participate in the requirement definition stage of the project, and the analysis of the results. Therefore, SEAS has shown the capability to develop R&D, addressing the knowledge to improve the quality of life of the elderly and disabled. SEAS has a large expertise in the study of disabled and elderly. This association remains aware of the needs of them, and develop a very important labor looking for innovative solutions. SEAS has developed regional projects about accessible tourism and also collaborates in European projects (VI Program Framework), related to the present policies, services and technology for the disabled, among others: 2007 – 2009 LivingAll (implemented) – Free Movements and Equal Living Opportunities for All – funded by DG Research Health in the VI Framework Programme of the European Commission.
